- Compliance with legal obligations
- Our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving YORINA
- Protection of vital interests where legally permitted
- Other lawful grounds recognised by applicable law
Where consent is required, you may withdraw it. Withdrawal does not affect processing already lawfully completed.
6. Children’s Privacy
YORINA’s initial service is intended for adults.
Children must not create or operate independent YORINA accounts unless we introduce a specifically designed, age-appropriate service supported by appropriate consent and safeguards.
A person creating or managing a child profile confirms that they are:
- The child’s parent
- The child’s legal guardian
- Or otherwise authorised to manage the relevant care information
We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to independently provide personal information through YORINA.
If you believe a child has created an account or provided information without appropriate authorisation, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
7. Caregiver Permissions
YORINA may allow guardians to invite:
- Other guardians
- Grandparents
- Relatives

- Temporary caregivers
- Other approved adults
Access may differ by:
- Household
- Child
- Role
- Information category
- Permitted action
- Care period
- Expiry time
A caregiver’s active responsibility does not automatically provide access to all household or medical information.
Guardians are responsible for selecting appropriate permissions and reviewing access regularly.

We may share information with:
8.1 Authorised Household Members
Information may be shared with caregivers according to permissions selected by an authorised guardian.

We may use providers for:
- Cloud hosting
- Authentication
- Databases
- Artificial intelligence
- Speech processing
- Document processing
- Notifications
- Analytics
- Customer support

Providers may process information only as necessary to perform contracted services and subject to appropriate safeguards.
8.3 User-Directed Sharing
We may share information when a user deliberately:
- Invites a caregiver
- Exports family records
- Sends a care summary
- Connects an external service

We will seek to verify legal requests and limit disclosure to what is lawfully required.
8.5 Business Transactions
If YORINA is involved in a merger, financing, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets, information may be transferred subject to confidentiality and applicable legal requirements.

If our practices materially change, we will update this policy and request consent where required.
10. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Our website may use necessary technologies for:
- Security
- Session management
- Remembering preferences
- Basic website functionality
- Measuring site performance
Where required, optional analytics or marketing technologies will be controlled through a consent mechanism.
You may be able to manage these technologies through your browser or device settings.
11. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for:
- Providing the service
- Maintaining records selected by the family
- Securing accounts

- Enforcing agreements
Different categories may have different retention periods.
For example:
- Temporary processing data may be deleted shortly after processing.
- Raw voice data may be deleted after transcription unless intentionally saved.
- Operational care records may remain while the household account is active or according to selected retention settings.
- Memories may remain until deleted by the family.
- Security records may be retained for a defined security period.
- Deleted information may remain temporarily in protected backups before final removal.
We will define and enforce more specific retention periods before the full application launches.

Where required, we will use appropriate safeguards for international transfers, which may include:
- Contractual protections
- Approved transfer mechanisms
- Regional hosting

The available safeguards may depend on your country and the YORINA services you use.
14. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Know whether we process your information
- Access your information
- Correct inaccurate information
- Request deletion
- Restrict certain processing
- Object to certain processing
- Withdraw consent
- Receive a portable copy
- Complain to a competent authority
- Request information about sharing
- Request review of certain automated decisions
These rights may be subject to legal limitations, identity verification, and the rights of other household members.

YORINA intends to provide controls allowing authorised users to:
- Correct care records
- Delete selected records
- Remove caregivers
- Export family information
- Delete a child profile where authorised
- Delete the household account
Some actions may require stronger identity verification because they affect sensitive child or family information.
We will not intentionally make cancellation, export, or deletion unnecessarily difficult.
16. Notifications
Notifications may include care updates, handover requests, reminders, account activity, or service notices.
To protect privacy, lock-screen notifications may hide sensitive details by default.
Users may control many notification preferences through YORINA or their device settings. Certain security or account notices may still be sent where necessary.
17. Medical Information and Emergencies
YORINA may help organise user-entered observations and confirmed professional instructions.
YORINA does not:
- Provide medical diagnosis
- Replace qualified healthcare professionals
- Guarantee a child’s safety
- Monitor emergency conditions
- Prescribe or change medication
- Replace emergency services
Do not rely on YORINA in place of appropriate medical or emergency assistance.
In an urgent or emergency situation, contact local emergency services or a qualified healthcare professional immediately.
18. Third-Party Services
YORINA may link to or integrate with third-party services.
Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We are not responsible for independent third-party services outside our control.
Before enabling an integration, review what information will be shared and how the external provider will use it.
19. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as YORINA develops.
If a change materially affects how we use sensitive information, we will provide appropriate notice and obtain consent where required.
The effective date at the top identifies the latest version.
